TikTok Creator Rewards Program

Overview

The TikTok Creator Rewards Program is a monetization initiative launched to replace the previous Creator Fund. It incentivizes creators to produce high-quality, original content, particularly videos longer than one minute, by offering rewards based on qualified video views and engagement metrics. This program aims to provide more substantial and transparent earnings for creators.

To participate in the Creator Rewards Program, creators must meet the following criteria:

  • Age: At least 18 years old (19 in South Korea).

  • Account Status: Personal account in good standing; business, political, or government accounts are ineligible.

  • Followers: Minimum of 10,000 authentic followers.

  • Video Views: At least 100,000 authentic video views in the last 30 days.

Video Requirements

For videos to be eligible for rewards:

  • Originality: Content must be original, high-quality, and produced by the creator.

  • Length: Videos must be at least one minute long.

  • Post-Approval: Only videos uploaded after joining the program are eligible.

  • Qualified Views: Videos must receive at least 1,000 qualified views, defined as:

    • Views longer than 5 seconds.

    • Unique views (multiple views from the same account are counted once).

    • Excludes views from users who indicate disinterest.

  • Content Restrictions: Videos should not contain advertisements, disinformation, paid promotions, or be linked to a Series.

  • Compliance: Must adhere to TikTok’s Community Guidelines and Terms of Service.

Reward Calculation

Earnings are calculated based on Revenue Per Mille (RPM), which represents the average rewards per 1,000 qualified views. Factors influencing RPM include:

  • Video Performance: Average watch time and completion rates.

  • Search Value: Traffic generated from search results.

  • Location: Geographic origin of viewers.

  • Engagement: Likes, comments, shares, and other interactions.

  • Advertising Value: Viewer’s ad watch time on TikTok.

Estimated earnings range from $0.40 to $1.00 per 1,000 views, significantly higher than the previous Creator Fund’s $0.02 to $0.04 per 1,000 views.
